Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday ordered to release a man imprisoned in jail under fake murder charges. Abdullah Shar, resident of District Ghotki Sindh was imprisoned in murder cases in place of the wanted culprit under false identity.Bench was informed that the card issued by NADRA had particulars of Mehrab Shah, the man wanted in murders cases and had the photo of Abdullah. Police arrested Abdullah instead of Mehrab Shah and he was sent to jail. The man had been languishing in the jail for the last four years.

Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh after hearing the plight of the man ordered to release the person and directed immediate removal of handcuffs of Abdullah Shar in the courtroom. Court also constituted an investigation team to probe the matter and also ordered Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to investigate the fake identity card, having particulars of Mehrab Shah and picture of Abdullah.

Court directed Sukkur Jail administration to release Abdullah immediately. Jail administration told the court that he would be released after producing him in Sukkur jail to meet the legal requirements.
